Suggest Treatment For Worsening Shingles Pain At Night

I have shingles and suffering for last four plus weeks. I am using clobetasol prop cream. I have pain even though a lot of them are cleared off, still I get pain particularly in the night. I was also prescribed valacyclovir. Tabs. What can I do for the pain?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Shingles pain may be treated with tablet Pregabalin twice a day for five days. You may also use Gabapentin, valproate etc.. Use vitamin b12 supplements. Use tablet Acyclovir four times in a day . If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
