Suggest Treatment For Yeast Infection And Thick White Vaginal Discharge

Hello My name Sandy and I have a question. I recently had a month long period and after it stop I douched. I thought I had symptoms of a yeast infection with a thick white discharge so I used a monistat 1 day maximum strength. Now my vagina has this thick deep red paste looking discharge. I had sex after I douched as well. My symptoms are pain during sex, no pain during urinations, red pasty discharge, mild burning sensation. Please help me!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to yeast infection. For further assessment, you may require Clotrimazole pessaries after gynecologist consultation.

You may require a complete hemogram, discharge culture sensitivity after a consultation.

Maintain proper hygiene. You can use v-wash. Avoid sexual act till complete recovery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam Kale
