Suggest Treatment Option For Pinched Nerve In The Back
I have a badly pinched nerve in my back. I am in severe pain. Im worried bc I don t know how long this will take to heal bf I can go back to work. Im icing it, but it doesnt help 4 long. Cant hardly walk. would i be able to get a work excuse if needed?
Based on the history you have shared, you get a neurosurgeon review and CT or MRI lumbar spine to locate the lesion and if medical therapy isn't possible, may need neurosurgical intervention, to get rid of nerve impingement.
Meanwhile OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be used. If pain is severe, nerve pain suppressants like Gabapentin may be used.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
