Dear Dr. I am 41 year old man. During recent blood test , my FBS has come 174.9 & PPBS ( had approx 80 grams glucose & then gave blood sample) came 230.9 mg/dl. It indictaes that i have diabetes. How can i control it now. Kindly suggest me some measures. Regards, mahesh

The blood sugar level you have mentioned is higher to normal.
At first diabetes is diagnosed when fasting and postprandial level are high, we go for HbA1c value which gives sugar level for the last three months. If that value is higher, first control is tried by diet and exercise.
when not controlled even after 2 months then we go with oral drugs which highly effective. The last option is insulin. But you will be better controlled with oral medication. meet a local diabetologist for the initiation of medication.
