Suggest Treatment To Prevent Varicose Veins Problems

Hi, I believe that DVT is correct. I have recently noticed the beginnings of varicose veins creeping up around my ankles. My mother and grandmother both had/have awful varicose veins. I am terrified that it is happening to me. Is there anyway to stop or slow down the process?

Thank you for asking Healthcare majic.

My name is Dr Ehsan Ullah &
I have gone through your query.

you have mentioned that you have family history of varicose veins since your mother and grand mother both had this condition

your main concern is how to stop this condition or
slow down the process.

well

for this purpose
there are certain
Predisposing factors to this condition which you must know
&
Then you can avoid

1) Heredity which mean , transmission from one generation to other... this risk factor you have already mention that you have in your family

2) Trauma to the legs ...

3) Professions or occupations associated with prolonged standing like Forces jobs where you have to stand steady for long time, watch man or Gate keeper job with prolonged standing someother such jobs

4) Sports participation

5) Being obese or over weight

6) Smoking

7) Contraceptive pills (Oral) use and Hormone replacement therapy

you can delay this varicose veins formation simply by reducing or eliminating these risk factors
which ultimately lead to pressure on veins and cause varicose veins

Some
other preventive measures are

A) Legs elevation

You may be instructed to elevate your feet above the level of your heart 3 or 4 times a day for about 15 minutes at a time. If you need to sit or stand for a long period of time, flexing (bending) your legs occasionally can help keep blood circulating. If you have mild to moderate varicose veins, elevating your legs can help reduce leg swelling and relieve other symptoms

2) Compression stockings

Compression stockings can be effective if they are worn every day.
these elastic stockings squeeze the veins and prevent blood from pooling.

in case of feeling heaviness in legs
leg pain
Night cramps in leg
or
other varicose veins related symptoms
you should visit your Gp for timely consultation and work up.

Hope this may help you. Kindly write a review & Let me know if anything not clear.

Thanks.
