My husband drinks 200 ml whiskey or 3 bottles of beer everyday. He refuses to get help. He is physically very fit and all his test results of cholestrol, BP , etc are normal. He is always angry and unhappy. When I try to talk to him he is sarcastic and unpleasant. His father died of cardiac arrest at 51 and his mother has high Blood Pressure and is also a diabetic, What can I do?
Your husband indeed is healthy till date and not having any BP or cholesterol problem, but with the continuing habit he may no longer be able to keep himself fit. He needs consultation and regular counseling to know that he is moving towards bad health slowly and that his father died of cardiac problem. Drinking heavily and staying angry like this will put load on his heart as well ,this is the simple way to make him realize the danger he is moving towards. Even his mother is a diabetic and hypertensive person so sooner or later there will be a tendency to fall victim to high BP and high Sugar. Make him read all this and again I would suggest a regular and detailed counseling for him....tc care
