Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve had more than 7 times a relationship breakup with a girl who has dissociative identity disorder each time sudden and related to anger I need advice as to where to go now she won t talk to me and is extremely enraged and I m worried about her personal safety
It would be a good idea to talk to the girl's parents or her next of kin to discuss her getting the help she needs. If she is mentally capable of making decisions, then the doctors would not be able to force her to get treatment.
There are a few cases in which treatment is decided by the parents. These cases are - when the child is young or a minor mentally unable to make decisions.
Usually, a mental state exam is done to understand the status of the mind and decide the exact cause of the symptoms. Along with this, the therapist will talk to the patient to confirm the cause.
Once the cause is determined, therapy can be started.
Some therapy types include - Cognitive behavior therapy Medications Group therapy Counselling
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Vignan Rachabattuni, General & Family Physician
