Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 35 year old male who is feels good but is overweight. I have what feels like an pecan-shaped smooth, firm lump that feels just beneath the skin in my lower right abdomen. It is not painful, but it causes a pressure feeling sometimes. I have no other symptoms. What could this be?
Hello...The lump you are talking about could be a Lipoma( collection of fat). It would be best however to get it evaluated. I would advise you to get an ultrasonography done to start with.Subsequently it may have to be biopsied. Please keep a watch for change in size, pain or warmth over the lump which are all indicators of inflammation. If it indeed is a lipoma you need not worry. For losing weight, the best thing you can do is to follow a healthy diet and get a good amount of exercise( 30 minutes daily for 5-6 days a week). Consult a dietitian who could help you out with a diet plan.
