Suggest Ways To Reduce Liver Enzyme Levels In Hepatitis Patients

Hi Doctor, My husband's Bilirubin is 23 and SGOT 423 and SGPT is 313. He has been diagnosed with Hepatitis E. Inspite of taking Ursocol 450 the numbers are not improving. He is on an oil free diet and bed rest for 40 days. What is your advise in order for him to become well. Thank you

thanks for posting query .

advise:
1. AVOID ALCOHOL, restrict fat intake, fat rich food
2. avoid junk food, soft drinks and loose weight
3. monitor fasting blood sugar ( if non diabetic)
4. if diabetic, control blood sugar
5. monitor liver enzymes and have ultrasound ( abdomen) every 3 to 6 months
6. vitE intake after discussing with treating physician
