Suspecting UTI As I Pass Bloody Urine. Was Asked To Get Cultures. Could Augmentin Alter Its Findings?
Hi....I think I have a UTI. It started this morning and is a bit different from any other UTI I have had over the years! This time...I do not have the discomfort and pain as before and my urine is completely bloody! I have called into a doctor who recommends it have cultures done...but it being Sunday and I have my 2 year old granddaughter with me for a few days...it's not possible for me to go to the ER today? I have a prescription of augmentin here and am wondering if I take it if it will cause cultures to be incorrect when I do get testing done.

Augmentin would definitely alter the results of culture if the germ responsible for the infection is sensitive to the antibiotic.
