Swallowing Problem Near Adam's Apple, Glands Swollen In Throat
I have significant discomfort when I swallow - in the area near my adam s apple. At night it feels like I can hardly swallow and it frightens me. Any idea what might cause this and what kind of doctor I might need to see to treat it? Should I be frightened? It started one week ago - but my glands in my throat area have been swollen for about a month.

Swollen neck glands and throat with difficulty in swallowing is indicative of a throat infection- pharyngitis. Consulting an ENT specialist for a thorough evaluation will be helpful. You may need oral antibiotics to take care of the infection.
