Swelling And Difficulty In Walking After Hitting Door. Took Ibuprofen. Should I Meet Doctor?
I ran a door over my toe 2 nights ago, it immediately swelled up and was black within 10 minutes. I iced it and kept it elevated and took ibuprofen to ease the swelling. It still hurts a disproportionate amount and stops me sleeping well. I can't walk as i usually do and it's painful to put weight on. Is this due to the swelling or should I see a doctor?
You have done a proper first aid treatment and anti-inflammatory. As per your discription the swelling is still there with a present diffuculty in walking and wt bearing so there is likely that there is fracture of phalanx.
I would scincierly suggest you to see a doctor to check it clinically for signs of fracture and if required X ray for same.
Further course of treament may be strapping of toes.
