Swelling And Pain In Ear, Lump Formation, Pulled Muscle In Neck. What Next?

Thank You. I have a swelling behind my left ear. I became aware of a pian on saturday evening. I thought I had pulled a muscle in my neck . I wondered if I was getting lock jaw . Then ignored it and went to bed. Now it is Monday evening and it felt strange and a bit painful. I touched the area and found a lump....which is sensitive to the touch.....and larger than when I felt it yesterday. Should I go to my Doctor?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The lump that you are feeling behind your ear is likely to be due to a swollen lymph node. It usually reflects an infection in the draining area. You need a physical examination to detect the site of infection and get appropriate antibiotics prescribed.
