Swelling, Blueness In The Area Of Injury. What Can Be Done?
my son just fell and landed on a hard object. the place of impact is right between his eyes on his nose . it is very swollen and blue and starting to swell a lot. im not sure if this is something i need to seek medical help for or what signs i should look for if it becomes worse. is this a dangerous spot to injure...it looks awful
Dear kleigh ,Hi ,It better to seek a doctor whenever there is an injury.Since there is swelling and ecchymosis of nasal bridge and eye and it's increasing, check for the vision and extraocular movement in that eye. There are chances of fracture.Since the swelling is increasing, there may be rupture of some vessel which is causing internal bleed.I advise you to show an ophthalmologist who can do a proper evaluation excluding internal bleeding, fracture and muscle entrapment and do a CT scan or X ray if required. For now you can do some ice compress and take an analgesic or pain killer.
