Swelling In Face, Legs, Feet. Tingling In Legs And Hands. Any Suggestions?
Hi doctor. My name is Stephanie. I am just concerned because lately I have been experiencing more swelling on my face, legs and feet and tingling in my legs and hands lately. I believe it is related to eating higher levels of salt and junk food but, I will swell up if I just eat 2 potatoe chips. I am age 49 and am experiencing pre-menopause symptoms also. I read somewhere that the body holds more salt during this time. I workout on a regular basis, I am not overweight (5'3 and 135 pounds) and I juice about 3 times per week. I guess I just can't eat any salt PERIOD. Any suggestions. Also, I have no health insurance so I try to pay close attention to my health and food intake.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The symptoms that you could be related to thyroid hormone imbalances or a premenstrual syndrome. Restricting the salt intake, laxative abuse and taking a vitamin B complex supplement will help. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
