Swelling In Upper Part Of Throat, Feels Like Swollen Glands. What Could Be This?
This afternoon, I suddenly developed this sensation of swelling in the upper back part of my throat- felt like swollen glands, but nothing feels swollen to the touch on the outside- More like a "throat closing in" feeling, no trouble swallowing, no trouble breathing. No history of allergies, no other cold symptoms at all. What could it be?
hi, thank you for your query these swollen glands in the upper back of your throat are tonsils.the inflammation is caused due to bacterial or viral infection.hence you have tonsillitis.for now i would advise you to take warm salt water gargle, lozenges. if fever comes up you can start antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs.most people recover within three to five days of using medication. thank you , wishing you good health
