Swelling, Redness After Injuring Nose. Headache, Not Easing With Medications, Feeling Sick. Medical Care Required?
Hi, I had a collision with a door last night, I have hit the bridge of my nose . The skin is not broken but there is some swelling and redness in the area. My nose did not bleed . Today I have woken up with a nasty headache that does not ease even after taking paracetamol and ibuprofen . I have had moments of feeling extremely sick. Should I get it checked out?
So sad that you had a nose injury but dont worry, these injuries are the most common and they almost always recover. Meanwhile these are a few points to ponder:
1. Do you have an active bleed, nose block, shape change, eye swelling or redness, vomiting, or ear bleed? If any of these is yes then you need an ENT consult with an xray or more preferably a CT examination 2. Some amount of swelling or redness will most certainly be there after any injury especially to the nose area but do not worry, this will subside in two to four weeks with little or not treatment.
Hope you recover soon
