Hello,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
From your query i understood you suffering from both Prolapsed disc and arthritis.
Swelling pain and stiffness of knees and hip joint is due to inflammation either due to rheumatoid arthritis of Osteoarthritis.
Numbness and tingling in arms and hands are due to Your cervical disc prolapse( herniated cervical disc).
Better take X- ray of both knee joints and hip joints before consulting Rheumatologist.
As for about cortisone injection, It can decrease the inflammation and there by decreasing the pain.
Herniated disc in cervical region does not cause swelling and stiffness in knee and hip joint.
If any doubt, Kindly reply.
Hope this helps.
Take care
