Swollen And Bruised Ankle, Diagnosed As Hematoma, On Anti Inflammatory Medication. Suggestion?

Hello,
Last Saturday I was kicked in the calf rather hard, and after of 3 days of toughing through the pain I took it to a medical center. The nurse said I have a hematoma and gave me crutches which I neglected to use until Friday. My worry though is that my ankle is extremely swollen and bruised (deep purple and blue). I have been on anti inflammatory medication but do you think my ankle is okay? I'm worried of permanent damage to the leg.

Hello,

Hematoma is collection of blood and needs medical attention. Ankle swelling and change in color indicated that hematoma has extended downwards. Crepe bandage and elevation of the area will help in reducing the swelling of the area.
consult you doctor on further management.
