Swollen And Painful Lymph Nodes In Groin, Pilonidal Cyst. Recommendations For Pain Alleviation?
My lymph node in my left groin are is very swollen and painful. I m a 30 year old female. I had my first pilonidal cyst about 6 months ago. I think I m starting to experience another. I m have an appointment Friday with a surgeon to lance the cyst but I m concerned about my immune system / swollen lymph nodes in the meantime. Any recommendations on controlling the pain and how this may effect immune system in interim?

For painful lymphnodal swelling ,you have to take antibiotics and anti inflammatory medicines.
Recurrence of pilonidal cyst after surgery is common.So,it is preferable to completely excise the cyst with good margin and leave the wound open.The healthy tissue will grow from bottom in course of time.I treat my patients the same way.I did not encounter a single recurrence.Medicines wont work in pilonidal cyst.
Anti inflammatory drugs will not alter immune system

Nothing to worry about your immune system.
It seems that you might be having infected cyst causing swollen,painful enlarge lymph nodes in the groin.
Consult surgeon and get examined.
If require he will go for antibiotic, anti-inflammatory medicine course if surgery is not required.
