Swollen And Sore Uterus, Have Intense, Itchy Feeling Internally After Taking Doxycycline. What Should I Do?

I have a swollen uterus that is sore.My ob has scheduled me for a sonogram next week.I have a history of cysts( ovarian ).She thought maybe it could a bacteria infection in uterine area.So she gave me Doxycycline . Today is my first dose.However my symptoms have worsened since yesterday.Now I have intense itchy tingly feeling internally and swelling seems worse.It is protruding a lot more.Should I just try to wait for something to come back next week.I am trying not to panic.Just feels strange.

Hi,
If you feel your symptoms have worsened with the medication, please report this to your consultant immediately and get a drug reaction excluded. If drug reaction is excluded, it is only that the infection is causing the symptoms. Even with appropriate treatment, it takes at least 3-4 doses of the antibiotic to show relief clinically. If you have not had a vaginal and cervical swab, please ask for it. Please get urinalysis also. Maintain proper genital hygiene. Do not douche. Wish you good health.
