Swollen Ankle Due To Broken Fibula. Not Able To Put Pressure On The Leg. Can I Take Advil Or Tylenol?

Hello I fractured my fibula 8 weeks ago and have been out of my cast for two weeks now. The past three days my ankle has been more swollen then normal and i have been getting really sharp pains going up my leg. I can still put pressure on my foot but i am getting the sharp pains. Would you suggest advil or tylenol for the pain and swelling?

Hello,

The cause of the pain has to be identified in the first place.
I may prescribe Paracetamol(Tylenol) for my patient to help relieve the pain.
I your cause I'm more concerned about the cause of the pain.
It may be due to weight bearing effect or complications due to cast.
Take the help of your doctor.
