Swollen Ankle, Had Sunburn On Legs. Is Swollen Ankle Caused From Sunburn?
I got a bad sunburn on my legs and now my ankle is swollen its been three days since I got the sunburn and the swelling started a day later. I drove about 12 hours from a trip and noticed the swelling after I got home ,went to work and drove about 10 hours and it was swollen when I got home is this caused from the sunburn?
Hello user, Swollen ankles occur when fluid is retained in the spaces between our cells , most notably due to insufficiency of the venous system.Sunburn may cause swelling but not in such early stage.U must take rest after every hour of driving. Sitting for long time with legs down leads to venous pooling hence leading to swelling.U must avoid standing or sitting with legs falling down ,in one position for extended periods.Increase muscle activity through exercise and wear supportive socks. Hope my info helped u.
