Swollen Circumvallate Papillae, Pain In Right Side. Possibly Cancer?
Ok hello, my circumvallate papillae are swollen and have been for the past few days it is more visible and has some pain on my right side my left has no pain. Is it possibly cancer? I di not smoke have not for almost a year and even then it was only once in a while. I have no clue as to why they are inflamed should I be worried?
First of all let me mention that there can be all kinds of lumps and bumps in the throat and also color changes majority of which turn out to be normal.
the inflamed papillae are probably a reaction to a minor cause such as infection or a reflux and you do not need to worry about them
Having said that you must realize that in any case unless the doctor examines the papillae we cannot be sure.
meanwhile stop all spicy, oily food and take balanced healthy diet
Get an ENT consult and get an upper GI endoscopy to get a better picture
since you do not smoke you are in the right track in taking good care of your body so do not worry
take care
