Swollen Gum In Between The Teeth. White Lines On The Gums. Do I Have Mouth Cancer? Have The Habit Of Smoking
Hello, on the left side of my mouth my gums are swollen inbetween two teeth and the whole left side of my gums are red and tender. The lining of my gums hurt and there is white lines. Also underneath my jaw (i think it is my glands) hurt to touch. What could this be and should I see and doctor or a dentist? Thank you for your help. I am really worried this is the beginning stages of mouth cancer . I am scared because I did smoke on and off for 7 years. I am 23 now.
Hello
on the basis of your dental history these white lines
could be white precancerous lesion like leucoplakia.
But proper clinical diagnosis and biopsy will confirmed
it.i would advice advice you to show this to a oral
pathologist and get a biopsy done .plz maintain your
oral hygiene.use mouthwash twice daily and get
cleaning of your teeth done since you are a smoker.
Plz give up smoking because this will worsen the condition.
Have high nutrition diet.
hello and welcome,
this is due to gum infection called gingivitis.
it can be due to accumulation of plaque or food debris on the teeth.the white lines are hard deposits of plaque called calculus.
please do visit your dentist and get a thorough cleaning of your teeth professionally.
also check for the periodontal pocket and bone loss in between the teeth.this will diagnose whether there is periodontitis associated.take tab.microdox-100mg once daily for 7 days.
use soft-interdental brush and chlorhexidine mouthwash to clean your mouth.
if the gums didnot shrink even after scaling, gingivoplasty has to be done.always brush your teeth twice daily and maintain good oral hygiene.
try to stop the smoking habit,as it can cause cancer.
take care.
Hi
Talking Statistically, and theortetically, You are quite young to have that ORAL CANCER. Still, if you do feel like having an ulceroproliferative growth, which is NON-Healing, present since more than 3 weeks, UNRESPONSIVE to any Treatment, FEELS NUMBNESS, and GROWTH FEELS HARD BOARD like, then these may be initial signs of the disease. Otherwise, The chances seems very slim. you may be suffering more likely from Gums and Periodontal Problems along with either Leukoplakia or like LICHEN PLANUS.
You must definitely seek a dentist/ oral surgeon for the proper diagnosis and treatment.
