Swollen Leg, Itching, Dry Skin, Redness, Spots. How To Reduce It?
i start with my leg/feet swelling after a bit it itches.. my skin gets very dry in that area and then my skin turns red with spots. When it happens on my feet it turns into a very large what looks like bruising (purplish/blackish colors). it takes awhile for it to go away.. but on my legs and feet there is like spots that just never go away. i just want to know how to reduce it or somehow cover it up, I was told to put my feet up because its bad blow flow but thats not so easy at work or home.. it is embarrassing with the dryness of skin (sometimes even after lotion) is there anything i can use to cover it up..
You seem to have developed pigmented purpuric dermatosis. Now this is disorder in which there is development of itchy red skin lesions initially which later turn purpuric and then continue lo persist as pigmented spots on skin.
You might need to apply topical steroid over the affected area to relieve the eczematous condition first. Take oral antihistamines along for itching. For the skin pigmentation, you will have to apply a lightening agent later on after the itching is relieved. Pigmentation in this disorder usually persists for a longer time in this disease. Avoid prolonged standing to prevent further progression.
Hope it helps Dr Geetika Paul
