hello and welcome to HCM forum,
i would like to inform you that sometimes following local anaesthetic injection swelling occurs, but it usually subsides on its own, i will advise you to apply cold compresses or ice on the swelling.
do not apply hot compresses over it.
Do not worry , swelling will subside in 3-5 days.
i hope this answer was useful,
i wish you good health,
take care.

Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

Swelling after injection occurs due to passing the needle into or through the artery , or probably due to some allergic reactions .

This type of swelling usually subsides by its own after 2-4 days .
Apply ice packs topically over the swelling .
If it is allergy induced swelling consult to doctor to determine the cause and to take an anti allergic if the swelling does not resolve in 2-4 days.

Hope this helps out.

hello there ,

Swelling in the lip is may be due to injection of anesthetic solution given to provide numbness in the affected area.

This swelling subsides with time as the solutions spreads to the surrounding tissues. if the swelling does not subside within 4 to 5 hours it needs to be examined.

sometimes such a swelling can be caused by allergic reactions to the anesthetic agent used.
apply ice packs over the lip area and compression helps in resolving the swelling.

it may take a little longer , 3 to 5 days for such allergic reaction to subside.

i hope this helps ,

take care.

Hello and welcome to hcm forum,

The swollen lips after injecting local anaesthetic solution usually subsides within 1-2 days.
Apply cold packs frequently on the affected site.
Avoid lip biting.
This may be caused from deposition of heavy concentration/allergic ingredients of LA solution on the affected area.
If the symptoms persist even after 2-3 days, please do visit your dentist.
Trauma during extraction procedures due to faulty instrumentation procedures also can harm lips.
Hope this helps.
