Swollen Lymph Its Painful. Prescribed Rocephin, Steroid For Sinus, Sores In Scalp, Eye Pain. Could This All Be Related?
I have a swollen lymph node behind my right ear. It's about 2 cm and painful to touch. I just finished a round of abx for sinus infection an I also had a rocephin and steroid shot. I'm no longer having the sinus issues but since staying in a hotel and using their shampoo I have a few sores in my scalp. I also am having some pain in my left eye. Could all of this be related?
Hi and thanks for the query, Sores in the scalp and eye pain, especially if of bacterial origin , like the sinus infection could lead to local swelling of lymph nodes. This of course is a normal inflammatory reaction. The drug Rocephin is a braod spectruma ntibiotic and association of other anti inflammatory drugs like Non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs could accelerate the subsiding of these symptoms. IN case they persist, you might be compelled to see you doctor. Proper antibiotherapy is deserved under such circumstances. Kind regards
