Swollen, Painful And Red Knee. Got 13 Wasp Stings. Taking Predisone, Had Cortisone And Steroid Shot. Advice?
I got 13 wasp stings in my right leg 3 days ago. I immediately went to my Doctor as they were extremely swollen painful and red. He gave me a cortisone shot and a steroid shot as well as a prescription for prednisone (steroid) The sting on my knee and back of leg were the worst. I have been in excruciating pain with this. The knee is still swollen although not as much but is still painful. The redness, heat and swelling from the sting on the back of my leg has moved to my ankle now and it is red swollen and very tender. Should I just continue with the steroids or go back to my doctor.
Hi, it appears that the stings has become infected by bacteria, so i advise you to consult your doctor for further treatment. You may need to have antibiotics, and pain killers for clearing up the infection. I to my patients with such an infection prescribe ofloxacin, ornidazole, protiolytics, and anti inflamatory drugs for complete clearence of the infection and swelling. Thank you.
