Swollen, Painful Pinky Toe. Tried Anti Inflammatory Drugs. X-ray Shows Fused Bones. Treatment?
Hi i have been suffering from a swollen and painful pinky toe . Have had xrays and ultra sounds. there is nothing broken. Its not gout and not arthritis . Have tried anti inflammatries with no luk. The xrays did show up that where the bones meet up at the top of the toes they are fused together could that be causing the pain

yes it is possible to have pain and swelling with bones fused together.
i would also have liked to rule out abscess and arthritis in blood called rheumatiod arthritis because they also present in the same way.
would suggest visit a specialist to get some investigations further done and be give medication that are strong painkillers, medication to increase lubrication of the joint.
