Swollen Thumb From A Dog Bite. Turned Purple. Took Tetanus Shot. Need To Be Worried?

Just wondering if i can wait to be seen by a doctor, on a dog bite through my thumb nail. Our 12 year old miniature husky was having a seizure and without thinking I pried his mouth off the metal cage and I was bitten. The base of my nail is purple where the puncture is and my thumb is somewhat swollen. Our dog is up to date on all of his shots and I am quite certain I am current on my tetanus shot. Thank you

Hi
If one can keep watch on dog for 10 days and dog does not show any symptoms then he can avoid post exposure propylaxis of antirabic vaccine. But you told og was having seizure then.
Yes,there is risk of rabies for you hence get vaccinated without delay and show your dog to pet dog doctor if dog has rabies then you need to take rabies immunoglobulin also.
You have to continue rabies vaccination till full course is complete. They should be given total 5 injections of anti-rabies vaccine on day 0,3,7,14 and 30 days.
Hope this information will be useful to you
