Swollen Thumb, Itchy, Not Able To Put Pressure. Injured While Playing. Treatment?

while playing football i landed on my thumb it swelled and i could hardly move it. i went to hospital and had it x-rayed and they said they would ring me when they have had a look at it if anything was wrong. well i had no phone call and it has been 9 days its is still slightly swollen i cant put any pressure on it and it is really itchy?

Hello,

There are chances of soft tissue or bone injury or both.
If there was a fracture or tendon injury it needs immediate medical attention so the hospital would have called you.

It may be a simple sore of the area. That may be reason for not calling you.
Rest and ice fomentation will help.
