Swollen Tongue, Red Throat. Diagnosed As Chronic Helicobacter Pylori Gastritis. Anything To Worry?
I am taking amoxicillin 1000mg twice daily, plus clarithromycin 250mg, 2 tablets twice daily also 1 twice daily of pantoprazole sodium 40mg, for 10 days I am on the 9 days and my tongue is swollen and red also my throat is it something I should worry about, the did gastric antrum, biopsy "chronic helicobacter pylori gastritis' would like to hear from you if it is bad . Thank you
i am afraid Helicobacter pylori infection might have nothing to do with the swollen tongue and the red throat. It is important to carefully to examine the tongue and throat in order to identify the possible causes of these symptoms. helicobacter pylori has effects mainly in the stomach where it contributes to peptic ulcer disease.
Redness in the throat could be caused by an inflammation, either due to virus and bacteria generally. Depending on other associated symptoms, it would be easy for your physician to know whether it is of bacterial or viral origin. High fevers, lymph node swelling and white patches are generally seen in bacterial infections. Treatment depends on the cause.
I suggest you consult your primary care physician. Diagnosis and management in this case should not be complicated.
Best regards,
Bain LE, MD.
