Taken MRI. What Does The Findings Mean? Suggestions?
I had an MRI taken and the findings were: slight mucosal thickening in both mastoid air cells. Hemorrhage,Infarction or Mass: To the right of midline in the pons there is a 4-5 mm focus of signal alteration. Low signal on T1. No enhancement. High signal on FLAIR and T2 images. This could represent a subacute infarct. Impression: There is a 4-5 mm focus of sigtnal alteration in the right side of the pons could represent a small subacute brainstem infarct. What does this mean in language that an everyday person would understand?
This means that the alteration could represent a form of stroke. Infarct===tissue changes as a result of lack of blood flow. Subacute ===Slow ongoing process. Brainstem===Part of the brain
