Taken Prednisone For Adrenal Hyperplasia. Have Nause, Vomiting, Low BP, Dehydration. Worried
I have non-classic adrenal hyperplasia. The doctors had me on 5mg prednizone for one year. I was removed off the meds due to bruising and joint pain. About a week after i was weaned off i started to get real sick. No one at my primary doctors office or the e.r. could figure out what to do for me. I am having nausea, vomiting, very low blood pressure (80/56 is seeming to be the typical), i am always tired, i also am fighting dehydration. I am worried that i am having adrenal insufficiency.

Your fears are genuine and i also think it it most likely adrenal insufficiency. I suspect the weaning process was so abrupt and the body did not get enough time to take over its functions adequately.
I will suggest that you talk with you doctor and get back on prednisolone as soon as possible. Then you will all monitor the weaning process more carefully next time to make sure that symptoms don't recur. If you cannot get him urgently, please visit the ER because hypotension can have far reaching consequences in a very short interval.
