Taking Buckley's Cough Medicine For Cough Along With Diabetes

Hi, I'm diabetic and have a cold cough that is driving me crazy! Can't sleep. Taking Buckley's cough med, sugar free. Does not seem to help much, and my sugar levels are elevated in spite of minimal eating and careful testing and insulin dosages. Also taking Halls cough drops, also sugar free...am on day two of misery!
