Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am on Clindamycin fr a tooth infection at the moment. I have also been trying to get pregnant. I currently am having my period (4 days early and I have a very set cycle so this is unusual), but I took a pregnancy test this morning and it came out positive. Is it possible that the Clindamycin caused a false positive or is it possible that I am pregnant and having my period?
Clindamycin is the antibiotic usually given to treat anaerobic infections including dental infections. I would suggest you to repeat the test, or else consult an OBGYN and get the checkup done. For tooth infection, antibiotic will give you a temporary relief i would suggest you to consult a Dentist and get the checkup done.
Hope this helps out,
Regards.
