Taking Diovan For Arthritis In Knees, Severe Leg Pain. What Should I Do ?
I am taking Diovan for many years. Because I have arthritis in my knees I thought my severe leg pains are because of that fact. It came to my attention, about Diovan side effects. My past few weeks on vacation proved it. I could hardly walk having severe leg pain. My doctor retired and soon the other doctor could see me is July 30. I am convinced my pain in the legs and lower back is side effect of Diovan, What should I do? Take 1/2 of the 320 MG Diovan. I am also taking 1 12.5 MG Hydrochlorothiaz. Please answer me. These several years of taking these pills changed my life from active to being almost disable. Thank you Linda 72 yrs. old
Hello. It is possible that the drug you take, valsartan, cause joint and muscle pain but does not normally cause pain so intense and disabling as you have. It is important to rule out other pathologies that can cause severe pain such as herniated disk rheumatic disease .... If these pathologies are ruled out, your doctor can substitute valsartan by another drug effective for high blood pressure. I wish you good health.
