Taking Duphaston. Trying To Conceive. How Can I Get Periods While On Medication?

Hi my name is sangeetha. I was taking duphaston for 10 days...the tenth day i took, and the 11'th day i got my periods in the afternoon. The first day it did not bleed too much and the colour of the blood was dark brown almost blackish..the second day it bled good with bright red bleeding and today is my 3'd day. wanted to know that its often said that u get periods only after 7-8 days after taking duphaston..and i am trying to conceive for the past 8 months and i am 31 yrs old. please advise as to how i can get my periods while on this medication?

Thanks for writing to us.
After taking Duphaston , when you stop it, you would have your periods normally within a week.
Also the type of bleeding is normal.
You have to consult a gynecologist for proper work up of menstrual irregularities.
Possibilities include polycystic ovaries, hypothyroidism, endometrial hyperplasia etc.
