Taking Tenormin And Losar For Hypertension. Asked To Change To Bisoprolol Fumarate And Telmisartan. But Has No Effect. Suggestions?

I am 46 and have been taking medicines for hypertension. Initially it was Tenormin 25, later changed to Losar 25 and lately was on a combination of both. Tenormin was taken in the night and Losar in the morning. Pulse comes down to 50 in the morning and things become OK by noon. Recently Cholestrol levels (LDL 170 HDL 60) came up but still not taking medicines as I am confident of lowering it. However doctor suggested changing medicines to Bisoprolol Fumarate 2.5 and Telmisartan 40. I started these medicines but after one week has not attained control over BP. Is it OK to continue Losar with any of these medicines as I find Losar to be effective.

Dear sir/ Madam
1. Usually it takes ~2-3 weeks for a blood pressure lowering drug to show its full effect. Tenormin and bisoprolol belong to same group. Telmisartan and losar also belong to one group. Therefore only intra-group substitution has been done. you have not mentioned your current BP readings.
It would not be prudent to start losar with telmisartan. I would like you to see your physician for any change in drug therapy.
Sincerely
Sukhvinder
