Taking Antibiotics For 5 Weeks, Having Bladder Infection After This. Remedy?
I've been on 3 different kinds of antibiotics in the last 5 weeks. Now I'm quite sure I have bladder infection. Can the antibiotics be the cause of the bladder infection since I've been on them for so long? I just finished taking my last anti biotic last night. I have a lot ot pain in my lower back and I am urinating quite often which gives me a lot of pain in the lower stomach when I go.
Hi Thanks for the query. If you have UTI inspite of being on antibiotics, it means that the bacteria is probably resistant to it. So I suggest you get a fresh urine culture followed by the appropriate antibiotic course for 10-14 days. If you have recurrent UTIs, you should also get an Ultrasound of kidneys, bladder; ans a blood test for diabetes. There are quite a few methods to prevent recurrent UTIs but we need more information before we can suggest them. Hope this helps Good luck.
