Taking Ibupofen For Jaw Pain In Joints. What Further Treatment Can Be Done?
Extreme jaw pain in my joint. Its hard to chew, eat, breath, sleep with all the pain. I go to my doctor and they gave me antibiotics and some type of prescription ibprufen. The pain is growing more and more intense to the point where its hard to work during the day. This has been on going for about 2 years. I do wear a mouth guard at night but that doesnt really help besides protecting my teeth. What should I do?
I am so sorry to hear about the jaw pains you have been experiencing. Any chronic pain that has been going on for as many as 2years requires a specialist attention. i will suggest that you get evaluated by a dental surgeon and a maxillo-facial surgeon to map out the cause of this pain and treat it completely. Pain medications would only relief you of the pains but cannot treat the cause. I can only accept that as treatment if every other cause has been ruled out through a proper investigation by the specialist. Get appointments and try to get this figured out.
I hope you find this helpful and it addresses your query fully. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. I wish you the best of health. Dr. Ditah, MD
