Taking Mirtazipine. Having Cognition And Anxiety Worse. What To Do?

I have been taking mirtazipine 15mgs. for about 6 weeks. Cognition and memory are horrible. Last night my dr. raised it to 30 mgs. i slept for the 1st time in 4 days but cognition and anxiety worse. I also take 2mgs of klonopin. I wake up with severe anxiety and feel like i am brain dead all the time. Don't know what to do?

Mirtazepine can cause sleepiness in the initial days of starting treatment or when the dose is increased. You are also being given clonazepam (klonopin) probably because of poor sleep and anxiety. It can also add to the sleepiness.
These medications can cause slowness in thinking and sleepiness.
You must not drive while on these drugs.
Bear with the side effects fr a few days, or ask your doctor for possible dose reduction or if there is any other medication that you may be given if it is totally unbearable.
