Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
The symptoms which you have described, i.e.
redness and mild yellow-colored oozing from the tattoo site, on the 5th day is suggestive of infection.
I would suggest the following remedial measures:
Wash the tattoo site with mild soap and water and keep the area dry.
You can start applying an antibiotic cream over the area twice a day.
Take
tetanus toxoid (TT injection ) shot if you haven’t taken one in the last 5 years.
Do not pick at any scabs, which increases the risk of infection and can damage the design and cause scarring.
Avoid wearing tight clothes on the tattoo site.
Avoid sun exposure and swimming.
If you develop
fever, swelling, warmth or any other complications, you have to seek urgent medical attention.
Regards,
Dr. Sheeba Stephen
