Teenager Always Sick, Headache, Tiredness. Tests Normal Except Low Vitamin D, Slightly Raised TSH. Vitamin D Advised. Suggestions?

My fit, healthy 15 year old son regularly comes down with sick stomach, headache, tiredness and generally unwell. Blood tests are normal apart from slight low Vit D and slightly raised TSH (free thyroxine level normal). He is on vit D supplement prescribed. I am concerned that this is recurrent, affecting his attendance at school and great concern to me. Am I missing something. GP not worried

Hi there ~

I understand your concerns. Being sick with headache and tiredness is hard. If testing shows that everything is normal I think that it might be that your son has some down with a viral illness. I do not think it will last very long. Rest, hydration and giving it time might be something that needs to be done. If things are getting worse, please visit your GP. I hope this helps.

Take care and have a lovely day!
