Temporary Memory Loss After Attack Of Migraine. Will It Reoccur? Prevention?

Hello: In 2010 I experienced an extreme migraine. I couldn't speak, I didn't know who I was or who my husband was or I didn't know where I was. I had gone to lie down, my husband came to check on me and said I was sitting on the edge of the bed twirling my hair. It was a day and a half before I started to remember anything or was able to talk. My husband passed away in sept/.2011. I am alone now and very scared it will happen again. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening again. Sincerely Kim Myskiw.

Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
Generally, loss of memory and altered consciousness do not occur in cases of migraine. So, one needs to exclude a seizure as a cause of symptoms in your case. EEG test may be helpful for that.
Since you have remained well for more than two years, there are very little chances of those symptoms recurring now.

Best wishes,
