The Blister Information Accompanying Picture #9 Is Incorrect. Popping A
The blister information accompanying picture #9 is incorrect. Popping a blister with a tiny needle, such as an insulin syringe needle is the best way to drain the fluid. Since those needles are very small in gauge, 3 or 4 punctures should allow for proper drainage using a sterile pad or actually I use a fresh tissue. Then it would be OK to add a little antibiotic ointment and cover with a bandage. Popping a blister is NOT the same as removing all the skin over a blister, which does indeed invite trouble. I have been a Type 1 diabetic since 1967 so I'm coming upon 50 years of practice with many situations that are covered in the pictures.
