ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello

Thanks for writing to H.C.M. for your query.

I have gone through your query regarding thirsty feeling, mild fever, common cold and pain on left side of chest. All these symptoms appears to be due to upper respiratory tract infection, but as you are complaining of chest pain that may be most likely due to associated Pneumonitis.

You are advice for these investigations-

(a) X-Ray chest - P.A. view.

(b) Blood- CBC, ESR, Widal test, M.P., blood sugar- (F. & P.P.)

(c) Urine- Routine & Microscopic.

(d) Culture and sensitivity of throat swab.

Till the reports are awaited you may take-

(1) Antibiotic- Amoxicillin (500 mg) thrice a day. This may be later change according to culture report.

(2) Paracetamol (500 mg) thrice a day.

(3) Decongestant cough syrup.

(4) Steam inhalation.

I hope this will help you , and as soon as reports of investigation will be available treatment may be accordingly change.

Regards.
