Now it is three days over still fever, cough is there? Fever is fluctuating in nature. Doctor has now prescribed prednisolone? is it o k? please help me?
Hi,
I dont agree to the oral steroid been added to his treatment list especially since he is still running fever.Steroid can flare an infection. What is required at this time is some lab investigation to rule out infection.Steroids are added only if the child has asthmatic bronchitis without fever. If fever is present and he is surely asthmatic then Nebulisation wiith these medications might help and much safer.
Bye
Take care
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
As higher anibiotic, bronchodilator are given and there is no response requires evaluation.
There is possibility of having Pneumonia.
So what I believe, before going to start predinsolone, go for,
TC, DC, ESR.
X-ray chest.
Consult pediatrician and take his opinion.
Ok and bye.
