Three Month Baby Given Nexium For Acid Reflux. Bladder Infection, Given Novamoxin Amoxicliline. Having Vomitings. Is It Drugs Reaction?

hi i have a three month old baby and she was put on nexium for acid reflux, she takes 5 mg a day and she now has a bladder infection and she was given novamoxin amoxicliline she takes 2.8 mg 3 times a day. She has been puking more than she normaly does and im wondering if the drugs are interacting badly with each other?

Hello,

Your baby is on medication for acid reflux disease.
Recently she is suffering from Urinary tract infection for which she is on Amoxicillin.
Now she has frequent stools.
This is one of the most common side effects of Amoxicillin therapy.
This is called antibiotic induced diarrhea.
The drug in the process of destroying the pathogenic organism also destroys the normal flora of the gut which induces diarrhea.
Probiotics will help.
